You know a band has a warped sense of humor when it pokes fun at serial killing. However, being a wacky punk certainly beats being a bore. Its this kind of twisted mentality that the Texas Thieves use to stand out from countless other bands playing the same chord progressions for the last 25 years.

The Texas Thieves have a skate punk style with a distinct singer and driving rhythms. While their last album Forced Vacation hinted a pop punk sensibility, Killer on Craigs List is harder hitting, with songs that get right down to business with no fluff. Some fans may crave for poppy tunes, but Last Man Alive & Brain Vacation and the albums centerpiece Killer on Craigs List& are all catchy without being wimpy.

The music is fast and furious. You can hear traces of classic SoCal punk like D.I., the Adolescents and the Angry Samoans, but the Thieves arent living in the past. Touching on politics, self-destruction and social chaos, the band is well aware of whats going on today. Plus the cover art is funny as hell,that is, if you dont mind an occasional depiction of throat slashing. Its all in good fun.
